Seller Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Minority Retail platform as a seller through the WCFM Marketplace plugin. By registering as a vendor, purchasing ad packages, uploading content, or listing products on the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Platform Overview

Minority Retail is a curated digital marketplace, catalog, and livestream platform designed to increase visibility and sales for underrepresented, minority-owned brands. Sellers use the WCFM Marketplace vendor dashboard to manage their listings, orders, and interactions with buyers.

2. Eligibility to Sell

You must be:

  • A business, brand, or entrepreneur authorized to sell products under your name
  • Aligned with the mission of Minority Retail (majority minority-owned, culturally conscious, or serving underrepresented communities)
  • Willing to participate in livestream showcases, catalog features, and platform marketing opportunities if selected or purchased

3. Vendor Account Requirements

As a seller, you agree to:

  • Complete your vendor profile accurately (store name, description, branding, policies)
  • Maintain active communication via the platform and email
  • Upload product photos and descriptions that meet quality standards
  • Use high-resolution images free of watermarks or offensive content

You are responsible for securing your login credentials and all activity on your account.

4. Product Listings & Standards

All products must:

  • Be legal and owned by you (no counterfeit, pirated, or restricted goods)
  • Include clear pricing, sizing, product specs, and return policies
  • Reflect accurate stock levels (no overselling)
  • Be professionally photographed and presented
  • Be shipped clean, securely packaged, and according to your policy

At out discretion, products may be denied or removed if they do not align with our visual, ethical, or mission-based standards.

5. Ad Package Structure

Sellers promote their brand via ad packages (3, 6, or 9-unit packages). Each ad unit may be applied to:

  • An online marketplace listing with featured placement
  • A catalog ad (graphic or video)
  • A livestream showcase segment

Ad Slot Rules:

  • Slots are first-come, first-served
  • Content must be submitted by the published deadline
  • Missed deadlines result in forfeiture of the ad slot for that period (no refund)

You may upgrade or renew your package at any time, based on availability.

6. Fees & Payments

Sellers agree to:

  • Pay any applicable listing, advertising, or promotional service fees
  • Allow for platform commissions on sales if applicable (rates disclosed upon onboarding)
  • Pay any overdue balances before requesting a withdrawal (see reverse withdrawal threshold)

Payment Terms:

  • Payouts are processed manually, by the seller, subject to balance threshold
  • Sellers must have accurate banking or payment method details on file

If your reverse-pay balance (fees owed to Minority Retail) exceeds the set threshold, withdrawals may be paused until your balance is resolved.

7. Shipping & Fulfillment

You are responsible for:

  • Setting accurate shipping costs and delivery timeframes
  • Shipping products within the stated time
  • Providing tracking information where possible
  • Handling returns or exchanges professionally and in a timely manner

You must notify the platform of any significant fulfillment delays that affect customer satisfaction or brand trust.

8. Returns, Refunds & Disputes

Each seller must define their own return policy, which will be displayed on their storefront.

If a buyer dispute arises:

  • Minority Retail will act as a neutral party
  • We reserve the right to issue refunds or take corrective action on behalf of the buyer if the seller fails to resolve the issue or breaches the terms
  • Sellers who repeatedly generate disputes may be suspended or removed

9. Content Licensing & Promotion

By uploading content or participating in our services, you grant Minority Retail a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your product images, store details, logos, and marketing assets for:

  • Livestream events
  • Catalogs
  • Social media, email, and promotional campaigns

This includes edited or reformatted versions to fit platform specifications.

10. Conduct & Compliance

Sellers must not:

  • Engage in hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory behavior
  • Circumvent the platform to process off-site sales (e.g., DM orders)
  • Sell counterfeit or restricted items
  • Misrepresent product origin or health claims
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or hack platform functionality

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for unethical or illegal conduct.

11. Account Termination & Penalties

We may suspend or permanently remove seller accounts for any reason including but not limited to:

  • Repeated customer complaints
  • Non-fulfillment of orders
  • Off-platform solicitation
  • Scams or misleading behavior
  • Violation of content, ethics, or DEI standards

Upon termination, sellers forfeit any unused ad units and may be subject to repayment of any platform-incurred costs.

12. Limitation of Liability

Minority Retail is not liable for:

  • Loss of revenue due to missed deadlines, customer disputes, or technical issues
  • Product defects or seller conduct
  • Shipping failures

Sellers agree to hold Minority Retail harmless for damages arising from platform use, except in cases of verified gross negligence.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Sellers will be notified by email or platform alert. Continued use after updates implies acceptance.
